The Build

Villa rifugio was built as a private holiday home for the family.
Paul and Jackie wanted a family home suitable for summer visits by their children during the summer months. They spend 4/5 months a year here in Puglia.
Coming from another agency in Ostuni, Paul felt in love with a plot of land comprising of a hill of stones and wanted to have his family home there. These hill of stones were in the form of a completely ruined large trullo and it was here that the magic began.
After the formalities of the usual legal requirements, obtaining a codice fiscale (tax code), the signing of the compromesso (contract) and full legal title being passed over, along with the opening an Italian bank account, we produced plans, discussed our design ideas, dealt with the various planning and building controls we were to expect during the build of the property and ensured regular contact with Paul and Jackie at all stages of the project.
The result, a beautiful newly built villa with 3 big bedrooms, 2 bathroom, open plan kitchen and living room with a fireplace, laundry and 2 outside areas on two different levels with the pool another step lower.
The 10m x 5m pool is gated for the children. The furniture was bought by the Paul, himself.
